Roller Rockers
Roller intake rockers for Streamline models. Higher rocker ratio with roller tip. The factory had problems with side loading of the intake valves. To fix the problem they added grease cups and lowered the intake lift of the cam which increased the duration. The roller rocker has a higher ratio than stock that will give extra lift with the added benefit of no sideloading of the valve resulting in increased valve and guide life.

O4 Tappets
Oversize intake and exhaust valve tappets. Keep your old guides and have the inside diameter ground to bring them back into round and fit these new oversize tappets. If you can wiggle your tappets back and forth in the guides they should be replaced. A good fitting tappet will allow you to set your tappet to valve clearance properly giving you better engine performance. These sets will utilize your old adjusting screws.

Oil Pump Gears
Oil pump gears. New oil pump gears as a direct replacement for the old worn gears. With body modifications these gears will also work for DeLuxe models. An increased gear width is also planned to allow cleaning up of worn KJ pump bodies, the oversize gear installation will require sending in your old pump for refurbishing and fit.

Original Camshaft
Camshafts. Old factory camshaft lobes were carburized for hardness. This is apparent by checking the finish on the shaft - you will notice later cams have a copper color to them. If you carburized and/or heat treated the entire shaft along with the lobes the shaft would be brittle or have warpage problems during the treating. The copper coating would not allow carburizing of the metal so the shaft would remain flexible and untreated. Any surfaces without the copper coating ended up hard to a depth of only about .010" to .020" at best. For this reason it is not recommended to regrind these old cams without retreating as you will be past the hardness and ruin the cam with use. A reground cam will wear in short order and introduce metal bits into your engine. Decent cams are getting very hard to find, most cams are worn, bent and twisted, with pitted surfaces and have all different lifts on each lobe on the intakes and exhausts. A twisted cam will never give you full performance due to misaligned lobes creating valve timing problems. Remember these cams are 70+ years old. How can you expect your engine to run properly and achieve its maximum potential? Simple, with a new cam. In a short time I will have new KJ cams available, I've already mapped the cams and blanks are done. The new grind is designed to maximize the performace and allow you to achieve proper timing. The new cams are beefed up to avoid twisting and precision ground so each intake and exhaust lobe has the same lift unlike the old factory cams. The camshaft is the brain of these old engines.
